Stephen is currently a Captain at Illinois River Fire/Rescue. Not only is he a volunteer firefighter, he is also an EMR and the interim pastor at Blue Springs Baptist Church. He has worked as a rodeo chaplain for 10 years before being called to the fire service.
Kate is also a volunteer at Illinois River Fire/Rescue as an EMR. She has a degree in Counseling and Bible from Johnson University in Knoxville, TN. Along with Stephen, she was also a rodeo chaplain for years before being called to the fire service.
As Chaplains for Cherokee County, we look to the needs of the community. The volunteer fire departments are an integral part of that community. We are called to respond both as EMRs and firefighters as well as Chaplains, sometimes in the same call.
We have traveled and lived all over the country, raising our three daughters to adulthood before returning to Oklahoma.

Chaplain Thomas House has served as the Enid Fire Departments Volunteer Chaplain since 2013. He is currently the Pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Enid, OK. Chaplain House has a bachelors degree from Concordia Teachers College Seward, NE and a Masters of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne IN. He has been a pastor for 20 years serving parishes in Brownsville, Dallas and Plano, Texas as well as in Hooker OK. Prior to entering Church Work he was a Post Attach Command Control Technician in the United States Air Force as well as another 9 years as an aircraft crew chief in Air National Guard and Air Force Reserves.
Chaplain House served 9 years as volunteer firefighter with the Hooker Fire Department and 6 years as an Emergency Medical Responder with the Hooker EMS department. He has also served as a Texas Wing Civil Air Patrol chaplain for 7 years. He is active with the Boy Scouts of America, Cimarron Council as a member of the councils Executive Board.
Chaplain House is a member of the Federation of Fire Chaplains and Oklahoma Fire Service Chaplains. He has received CISM Training and Suicide Prevention Training.
He is married to Audrey, a teacher in the Enid Public Schools and they have two boys.

I then began training to help them by attending Critical Incident Stress Management, Advanced CISM, and Peer CISM. I also earned my FF 1 certification and my EMT-B certification. I also helped form the NW Oklahoma CISM team.
Since 1978, I have pastored Bethel Hawley Baptist Church of Nash, OK. My wife and I have 2 children and 7 grandchildren.

Now I have the opportunity to serve two outstanding organizations, one in Oklahoma City and the other in Mustang.

Chaplain (CPT) Ted Wilson has served the Oklahoma City Fire Department for six years as a volunteer chaplain and the full-time Fire Department Chaplain since 1995. He has two earned bachelor degrees and his Master of Divinity degree is form New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Chaplain Wilson is an Intermediate Paramedic and has basic and advance training in Critical Incident Stress Management Team and is the Department Coordinator of the team. He has thirty-seven years in ministry and served as an enlisted soldier and a Chaplain (MAJ) (Retired) for thirty-six years in the Army Reserves and National Guard.
After the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building incident, Chaplain Wilson assisted with one extended rescue; conducted on-site CISM activities; defusing; one on one debriefings; he was a resource for the twenty-four hour CISM process; monitored firefighters and other rescue agencies; prayed over the victims and their rescuers (inside the building) as well as conducting “mini” memorial ceremonies for the leaving Urban Search and Rescue teams. Off scene he assisted with victims and rescue workers concerning family care, ministry and numerous formal memorial ceremonies and funerals.
He has assisted numerous agencies, groups and individuals with the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Pre-publication copies of the lessons learn after the Murrah bombing have shared with all who have requested them. Chaplain Wilson has participated in many of the same activities in New York City as he did during the Murrah tragedy on five different occasions, with nine weeks on site.
Chaplain Wilson continues to counsel and arrange specialized emotional care for firefighters and their families. He assists the families, victims and survivors of the Murrah bombing and the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 in both, public and private ways.
The Oklahoma City Fire Department has been surveyed since the Murrah Bombing and Chaplain Wilson has been involved in this effort as well. This information was published in June 2002 issue of Fire Chief Magazine and in medical journals. the twenty year follow up is in process currently.
He is married to Janice, and they have three children, Teddy Lee, Jeanna, Tressa and four grandchildern, Payton Abbigail, Jaxon Jo, Rose Clair and Mile Robert.
